My wife is dreading going to the dentist. It’s been a while since her last visit and if what she suspects is true, fixing the problem will cost a lot of time, pain and money. Getting everything done is going to be awful, so her current plan is to ignore the dentist and avoid knowing how bad things really are.
Most of us are pretty much the same way about our soul. We know something is wrong, but we keep putting off God; hoping it will just go away. We don’t like confirmation that the problem we suspected is actually true. Ignorance is bliss right?
But for how long?? How long do we wait for things to just…get better? When was the last time that worked for anyone?
Are your doubts growing louder and harder to ignore? Do you need more and more distractions to keep you from realizing how disappointed and disillusioned you really are? Is there pain affecting your movement upward towards God? Is this hitting home?
Nasty things grow in the dark. Time to grab the flashlight.
I’ve attached an opportunity; maybe you would consider it a challenge? Attached for download is a personal evaluation form…there are four areas God highlighted to me which affect everything we do. It would be prudent to evaluate your soul because it is coursing your journey.
Here are some instructions before you begin:

- Pray that you would be ushered into truth. Above all else you must desire to know what is and what only appears to be.
- Decide that you will make any adjustment and shed any weight that is only causing you trouble and pulling you down.
- Maintain discretion in this process. Look for no other counselors than the whispers of your heart and clarity which comes from God.
If you do this, I believe you will find not only insight but direction. It is a tragedy to waste time that cannot be regained but a greater tragedy to believe time is being used effectively when it is only being squandered. Please share your experience below if you do decide to take this journey. It is an opportunity to encourage others to pursue truth in a world that operates in deception.
Find your wings,
Nathan

Absolutely true. The greatest way to avoid the whispers from your own soul is to stay busy or entertained. I believe that is why busyness and entertainment are such a huge problem in most people lives. It is a cover-up for dealing with their convictions and emptiness. We have lost the art of sitting in stillness, being quiet and contemplating life and God.
May we all return to the freeing practice of sitting still before our God and allowing him to perform the necessary adjustments to our souls.
I wonder how many fillings she needs…………..lol;)
You’re a really good writer Nathan! Have you preached at all? You seem to have a gift with words
She is going to the dentist this week…so we will see.
I have preached before..it is an honor to speak the truth of Jesus. Thanks for your encouragement.
