What do you do when God is silent? If we want to appear good, we become moral. We follow this external list of actions that make us good and avoid the ones that condemn us as evil. But so many people resent the idea that they need a savior.

We are fading lights only flickering shortly in the magnitude of history.

My wife is dreading going to the dentist. It's been a while since her last visit and if what she suspects is true, fixing the problem will cost a lot of time, pain and money. Her current plan is to ignore the pain and avoid knowing how bad things really are. Most of us are pretty much the same way about our soul. We know something is wrong, but we keep putting off God; hoping it will just go away.

We all seem to like the fact we have some say in who is elected President. Personally, It makes me feel like I am apart of deciding our history as Americans, but what about my role in Christianity? Do I get a vote?

A friend of mine just got back from living in Africa for three months. We were talking and she was telling about all the stuff she saw God do, and the things she learned while she was over there. She was telling me about how she had to use a hole in the ground to go to the bathroom and how street kids would throw rocks at her and her friends. After she was done talking I asked her if she missed living in America? If she missed her bed or a toilet? She said she didn't much at all. That she didn't even want to leave.
